Technology at STEAM

Technology is integral to the everyday experience of STEAM Academy students.

To promote equity and access to technology, STEAM students use a district provided Chromebook for school and home use. STEAM Academy was the first Fayette County School to offer a 1:1 take home program for students. For additional information about Chromebook Expectations click the link below.

Since the first day of classes, STEAM Academy has used the Canvas Learning Management System by Instructure as the cloud based learning management system (LMS) where all courses are presented online for students. STEAM Academy's Canvas provides 24/7 access to all courses and course resources, including documents, videos, web links, websites, etc. Students use Canvas daily to track understanding of and to turn in assignments, check their grades, and their academic calendar.  STEAM Academy was the first school in Fayette County and the state of Kentucky to provide Canvas for students. Understanding how to work with an LMS is an essential skill for college-bound students.  For more information about Canvas, please visit the FCPS Canvas Information Page where information can be found for students and families as well as troubleshooting information from the Office of Instructional Technology.
